Thumb-R-Green Garden Club
President: Diana Halvorson, 406-656-1829 Thumb-R-Green Club was formed for the enjoyment of its members (gardeners who love to talk about, grow and share plants). Members may choose to participate in any particular project that interests them. We meet in homes of members and have many interesting programs by local speakers. Currently we have 30 members.
Dues are $12 per year. Please call our president for more information to join us at our next gathering. Below are pictures from the 50th Anniversary Tea held in February 2010. The Billings area flower show and the children’s “Junior Thumbs” program are our major projects. The children also participate in the flower show.
Pictures of a recent show are at the bottom of this page. We planted and maintain bulbs and flowers at the end of Poly Drive in a small city park as one of our community projects. Our member, Mary Davis McLane, served as the 2003-05 state president of Montana Federation of Garden Clubs. We have five accredited flower show judges who apprise us of events and trends in Montana and other states. Shirley Spildie is a national flower show school instructor in design and procedure and was named the 2009 Montana Garden Club Member of the Year. Shirley is pictured below with MFGC President, Darlene Skari at the MFGC convention held in Billings. Some of the members of Thumb-R-Green Garden Club (above). |
