Nestled at over 5400′ in a wide, verdant valley surrounded by the Beaverhead – Deer Lodge National Forest, Dillon Garden Club has been greening their community for over 35 years. Our members are some of the most industrious gardeners in Montana. The 30+ members meet on the third Thursday from September to May for a horticulture or floral design program. During the summer months, we plant and maintain the 4 block-long Centennial medians on Helena Street as well as the Blue Star Marker garden.

The club sponsors awards and champions the Beaverhead County Fair. We sponsor a “First Daffodil” and “First Ripe Tomato” Contest each year. Members also judge the October Fest Halloween decorations, sponsor the Holli-Daze Christmas Awards, and ask the community to participate in the Christmas Bazaar by entering creche displays. The Bazaar is one of our major fund raisers.

Club members display leadership in many facets of the community. Members lead a junior garden club, the Cougars, who garden at the middle school.

Dillon Garden Club members joined with the Southwest Veterans Memorial organization to purchase and dedicate a Blue Star Memorial Marker. These markers are placed by garden clubs across the Nation to honor past, current and future U. S. Armed Forces.

For more information on programs and to become a member, please contact the club president Greg Cooper  (660-1449).  No gardening experience is necessary. What a great way to make new friends while sharing a common interest in gardening!  Find us on Facebook “Dillon Garden Club” too.
