The mission of the Stevensville Garden Club is to advance gardening and beautification to the homes of its members, to encourage neighborhood cooperation, and to stimulate interest in civic improvement.
Since 1939 the club has been active in a wide variety of local civic events:
At monthly meetings, club members attend workshops and presentations by local gardening experts or take field trips to local spots of gardening interest.
The club participates in a variety of town beautification activities, including the Blue Star Memorial garden at Wayside Park, pollinator gardens at the Ravalli County Forestry Office, and gardens at St. Mary’s Mission, the Community Pool, the North Valley Public Library, and the Stevensville Museum
At Stevensville’s annual Creamery Picnic, the club hosts the Creamery Picnic Garden Party and bestows each year’s Yard-of-the-Year award.
The club is active in the Ravalli County Fair, serving as superintendents of the Floral Department and providing many entries in both horticulture and design.
The club hosts an annual pot-luck picnic, inviting other local garden clubs, for a chance to enjoy good food, warm weather, and a common interest in gardening.
Garden Therapy at the North Valley Nursing Home, brings garden activities to those with a passion for gardening who can no longer tend gardens of their own.
The club hosts the annual community Christmas Luncheon, an activity the town looks forward to every year. Each year the theme, menu, favors, and door prizes are different, adding an added element of excitement to this annual event.
